It’s a lifetime dream of mine to work for Southwest Airlines. I’m hoping I can turn my internship into a job by offering my skills in social media, writing, photography and all things technology. I’ve been told that our website (southwest.com) is one of the top most used websites for booking travel. I’m happy to hear this, but it surprises me a bit when the amount of travel sites out there increases each day. Just to name a few: Priceline, Orbitz, Kayak, Expedia, Travelocity and Hotwire.

With the Internet being such a disorganized space, I’m curious to see what happens to these travel search engines and the search engines of Google and Bing. Will Google or Bing create their own travel booking websites? At the moment, Google has a page called, Google Flights, but you still have to book through another site. Will social platforms like Facebook begin incorporating travel accommodations based on their user generated content?

I’m curious to see how the ever-evolving Internet and search engines will incorporate the world of travel and hotel booking. I suppose it’s only a matter of time till we find out.
